FusionPort™ Staging

Overview

Each of the four sub-modules of the FusionPort™ Staging is represented as a logical port with its own port_id. The WMS controls bin delivery to these Ports in the same way as standard port processes. Each port is managed independently using the openport, openbin, closebin, and closeport methods.

Workflow

A typical workflow is to open the two source ports as standard picking processes and the two target ports as standard putaway processes that request empty bins to store pre-picked orders.

A simple strategy is to always pick from the left source bin to the left target bin (left-to-left), and from the right source bin to the right target bin (right-to-right). However, the WMS may implement more advanced batch-picking strategies by independently controlling bin flow to each port.
